And the Little Mermaid double-sided bookmark! I had a tough time finding a quote for this one as i was looking for something too specific but this quote by George Eliot ( pseudonym of Mary Anne Evans ) was close enough.

Pencils, watercolours, white acrylic / 5,5 x 16 cm.

Others in the same series:
Peter Pan [link]
Snow White [link]
Alice in Wonderland [link]

The look on her face is so heart wrenching. You can almost feel her mournful longing for the world above.

Would you ever consider making prints (other than bookmark size) available for this piece?

As in both sides, side by side or just the front? The dimensions would be unusual if it was just the front so i don't know. At some point i thought i could make a print of all of the front sides in one, like Mucha's Four Seasons but i'm not sure if the impact would be the same without the quoted back sides. If you have any suggestions, i'd be glad to hear them. :)

Either or would work fine I think. The quote supports the art's semblance wonderfully. So maybe a print that would have the front and back side by side, as it is on your deviation page. Oooh. It'd be neat to see a Four Seasons-esque type of your artworks sometime! C:

I was led to this because of Pinterest, and I have to say this is amazing! I love the details, but you still keep a kind of watercolor style to your pieces. They are stunning. I'll definitely keep checking back on your profile. I'm also wonder about what sad classical music pieces you listen to. You mentioned on your other mermaid picture you were listening to that genre when drawing. I like more melancholy music when writing. Care to share your playlist? [link]

First of all thank you very much for your lovely words on my work! Now for the music, well i have a playlist i listen to when painting, mainly instrumental pieces, many of them quite melancholic, but it has about 400 pieces at the moment so it'd be difficult to share them all. To name a few, from classical i have Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Delibes and Rimsky- Korsakov (especially "Scheherazade"), from more modern and film composers i have Craig Armstrong (especially the soundtracks of "Elizabeth: the Golden Age" and "World Trade Center" but his non-soundtrack albums too), Adrian Johnston ("Brideshead Revisited" OST), Bruno Coulais ("Les Choristes" OST), Thomas Bergersen ("Illusions"), Zbigniew Preisner (the soundtracks from the Trois Couleurs trilogy and "The Beautiful Country"), the soundtracks of the tv series "Tudors" ( the composer is Trevor Morris ), Thomas Newman ("American Beauty"), Edward Shearmur ("K-Pax" OST), Vangelis ("Voices" - i was actually listening to this when painting the little mermaid  www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mCyRh… ) then a little bit of New Age with Enya, Loreena Mckennitt, Secret Garden..I hope you find some of these to your taste! :)

If I hadn't already commissioned you for two gorgeous bookmarks, I'd buy this one. Oh god, it's so gorgeous. :tighthug: You're welcome Athina. Just being honest.
