Miriel Journalby ~Achen089

Journal commission for ~anguirel who asked for Miriel weaving her tapestries in the Halls of Mandos.
Miriel Serinde is a very interesting character from Tolkien's works, her story is very short and sad and you can read more in-depth about it here -> [link] .
She was the mother of Feanor, having the task to weave all the deeds of the House of Finwe after her death.

Imaginary weaving-from-a-distance technique was devised in order to fit the journal's composition.

Pigment liner, graphite, white and metallic silver pencils, white acrylic on a 13x21 cm Moleskine journal.
The character is a creation of Tolkien.

I absolutely love it, especially her hair and gentle hands. There aren't so many Miriel's portraits on deviant, and this one is the best I've seen.

her story is truly bitter. in the end she has nothing whatsoever. and i so want to smack finwe with something; i really, really dislike him. and indis ... talk about being stupid ... and foolish. yuck!

This is the most stunning picture by you, I think! The expression of Míriel is so strong!
